Fire detection and suppression systems are designed and installed to monitor and provide early warning about a potential fire outbreak. Early warning provides occupants with the opportunity to evacuate the building reducing the risk of injury and death. In addition, fire fighting can commence early preventing further spread of the fire and protecting the property and the contents thereof.

FIRE FIGHTING EQUIPMENT

Fire Extinguishers

These regular fire extinguishers contain a siliconized sodium bicarbonate based dry chemical with free flowing and non-caking additives. Economical Class B & C protection with lower initial cost and recharging. This chemical smothers fires in flammable liquids and pressurized gases and is electronically non-conductive. Available in a variety of types and sizes of Wheeled and Stationary Units.

CO2 Fire Extinguishers

Carbon Dioxide is discharged as a white cloud of "snow" which smothers a fire by eliminating its oxygen. It is effective for Class B flammable liquid fires and is electrically non-conductive Carbon Dioxide is a clean, non-contaminating, odourless gas, safe for use on clothing, equipment valuable documents or food. Available in a variety of types and sizes of Wheeled and Stationary Units.

30m Hose Reels

Nat fire Hose Reels are 100% locally designed and manufactured to the highest safety and engineering standards, tested and approved to SABS Specification 543 guaranteeing performance and reliability. Nat fire Hose Reels are non-drip, easy to install and service. By simply undoing one bolt, standard 'O' ring seals can be removed and new ones replaced with a minimum of tools. There's a hose reel for every type of situation – domestic, commercial and industrial - plus a valve box if required.

Stored Pressure Fire Trolley

Liquefied Petroleum Gas (“LPG”) top quality welded steel cylinder with high bursting pressure. Cylinder is finished with baked epoxy enamel paint. Fitted with brass nickel-plated quick opening valve. Wheels solid rubber pressed steel rims and nylon bearings. Ball valve operated discharge nozzle

Application

Easily manoeuvrable by one operator the trolleys are ideally suitable for mining applications such as sub-stations and lamp rooms. Also for industrial applications such as small landing strips, petrol and LPG installations.

Fire Hydrants

Fire hydrant and hose reel reticulation.Fire hydrant systems are the means by which large quantities of water are distributed to premises (and within larger premises) so that the water can be used for fire-fighting purposes.
It is normal for fire hydrant systems to be capable of delivering a virtually unlimited supply of water for use by the fire service. In larger commercial and industrial premises, there is a requirement under building regulations for the installation of private fire hydrants for use by the fire service in the event of a fire.
The water is discharged into the fire engine form which it is then pumped and sprayed over fire.

DCP STORED PRESSURE TYPE VALVE ASSEMBLY

FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEMS

Sprinklers

Automatic fire sprinkler installations Standard coverage Sprinklers
– Standard response
ESFR – Early Suppression Fast Response

Suitable for all types of field condition (except heavy clay soil). Uniform distribution of water with high efficiency. Less land loss provides more land area for cultivation. Loss of water is minimum. Accurate and easy measurement of distributed water.

Vehicle Suppression Systems

Vehicle fire suppression systems are designed for installation to mobile materials handling equipment commonly used in agriculture, construction, mining, forestry, and other industries. These systems are designed to quickly and efficiently detect and put out fires caused mainly by flammable liquids.

The Vehicle Suppression Systems for engine compartments utilise a foam additive to ensure enhanced effectivity for hydrocarbon applications.

Suppression systems are fitted on, amongst others, the following earth moving equipment:

  1. -Bulldozers
  2. -Graders
  3. -Front end loaders
  4. -Dump trucks

Conveyor Fire Suppression Systems

Localised Suppression System (LSS) protect your valuable production and industry equipment such as transformers, hydraulic power packs, conveyor belts (high risk areas like tail, head and tensioner pulleys) and fuel storage tanks against fire.

Conveyer is part of LSS for conveyor belt installations is based on a risk assessment done. It aims to mitigate all the fire risks identified and comprises of primary suppression systems and cooling zones.

Primary suppression systems are fixed automatic suppression systems and are divided into three different sections for the identified high-risk areas on the conveyor belt installation. As a standard, primary suppression systems are installed for both surface and underground/tunnelled conveyors for the following:

  1. -Head (including drive units);
  2. -Tail;
  3. -Take-up.

BLAZE BUSTER

The BLAZE BUSTER unit is a fast and effective alternative to major fire extinguishing equipment. The BLAZE BUSTER consists of 4 x 230L cylinders and a high-performance cannon.

It is also fitted with a hose reel with an accompanying BB Gun (discharge nozzle).

The BB Gun has two different functions i.e. “Mist” and “Stream”. The BLAZE BUSTER cannon and BB Gun can be operated simultaneously.

I-PROTECT

I-PROTECT systems are designed for fire suppression in small unoccupied defined volume enclosures. The I-PROTECT systems use a single method of detection and conveyance of the extinguishing agent to the activation point.

The I-PROTECT low pressure automatic Fire Suppression System is a direct quick acting system consisting of a cylinder containing a clean agent (CLEAVOS 1230™ or CLEAVOS 200™) and I-PROTECT linear heat detection tubing. The linear heat detection tubing ruptures when exposed to elevated temperatures.

ROTO FIRE PAC

The ROTO-FIRE-PAC is capable of extinguishing Class A, B and K fires by using foam mist as the extinguishing agent.

The ROTO-FIRE-PAC is an effective alternative to handheld extinguishers, especially for mining proto- and emergency fire response teams.

It consists of 2 x cylinders, a manifold and a RFP Gun (discharge nozzle) which are supported by a harness.
